Blue House
Pasture Rock
The first in a series of sustainable, site-specific homes built at Pasture Rock in Northern Dutchess County, this home was designed to “disappear” into the side of a hill while allowing 30 mile views. So energy efficient, the original owner said “it costs no money to heat”. Not exactly true, but it does score extremely high in every independent heating and cooling test.
Residential
Milan, NY
This expansive compound, one of our firm’s very first clients, has grown with the family’s needs over two decades.
Located on the site of an abandoned camp ground, the home not only reflects rustic building forms, it actually makes use of antique cabins found on the site.
A Guest House
Fallen Pines Farm, NY
A design that while reminiscent of Arts and Crafts bungalows has a decidedly decidedly modern feel once inside. Do your guests feel the need for even more privacy? Let them have the canopy bed with doors that slide around it to make a room within a room.
Red House
Woody Row
On a densely wooded, rocky ledge, we were challenged to design a home that would disturb as little of the natural and rugged landscape as possible. This led to the use of bridges and cantilevers to connect parts of the house directly to the grounds.
